Spring is in full flower, at least here in wrinkleland. 90’s all week and the afternoon thunderstorms are beginning their visits. In years past, this was the season to go aloft in the sailplane and test the thermals for lift and distance. I don’t fly gliders anymore but they are featured in my books.
One of my characters is a young pilot and I’ve sent him (in ROPE BREAK the second in the crime/detective series that is due out in February, 2016) off to the Air Force Academy. The young men and women who study there in real life become pilots and support officers dedicated to the defense of this great country. I found his article describing one of the more fun parts of their program.
Flying a glider must have been a lot of fun 🙂

It was. Hated to sell ours but the child bride needed a house. Priorities. But the memories are still there and my novels bring it all back.
