It was supposed to be fun. Visiting the Great nephews and great niece, their parents and grandparents. Belated Christmas and the little guy’s third birthday. And it was, until…
I try to explain to The Child Bride, cars are machines. Very complicated machines. And they sometimes break. But you’d think that they’d break where you spend 99% of your time, at home. But nooooooo.
So here we sit and wait. 800 miles from home and 600 miles from the southern winter writing retreat. Waiting for the phone call from the repair shop, a rental car in the driveway of a kind relative’s home. But it’s warm and there’s food in the fridge. We’re safe, for now, and when the machine is fixed, on we go. It’s supposed to be fun, remember?
You need auto(?) suggestion Mike. All together now:
“THIS IS FUN AND AN ADVENTURE”
“THIS IS FUN AND AN ADVENTURE”
“THIS IS FUN AND AN ADVENTURE”
“THIS IS FUN AND AN ADVENTURE”
“THIS IS FUN AND AN ADVENTURE”
I bet you’re felling better already! π

Oh flurgh! That stinks! But at least you’re missing the cold weather I was waiting for! It’s 12 degrees here today. Count your blessings! Oh and have a safe trip home! π

I think they can make machines that don’t break…they just don’t want to. It’s a big conspiracy! π π Glad you are safe and sound.
